The harvest season is in full swing and that means large quantities of maize are once again being stored in maize silages. These silages can sometimes reach heights of up to 12 metres. It is therefore important to ensure a safe way of unloading. The Holaras maize comb offers the perfect solution for this!

The danger of high corn silages

The ensilage of high maize silage poses considerable risks. One of the biggest dangers is the collapse of the top layer of the silage wall. This can happen when maize is pitched from below, causing the upper maize to become unstable and fall down. This collapse can cause serious damage to the ensiling vehicle and can be life-threatening for the driver.

Preventing incidents

To prevent these dangerous situations, Holaras has developed the silage scraper. This innovative machine comes as an extension to the boom of the shovel or telehandler, or to the tractor with front loader. With the Holaras Tiger silage scraper, you can pull down the upper part of the silage wall in a controlled way, allowing the maize to be scooped up safely at the bottom.

The Holaras maize comb features blades between the tines, which ensure that the maize is pulled out efficiently and evenly. This not only reduces the risk of collapse, but also ensures that the maize comes out of the silage neatly and cleanly. In addition, a smoother silage wall and correct amount of loosened maize reduces losses and reduces the risk of scalding.

No feed loss, more time left for feeding, tight silage!
